Here is my contest entry for SEGA's Sonic CD 2011 Fan Art Contest! And the progress video of it if anyone is interested: [link]

I did get to the top 50 :) so I can't wait till I can finally download it on Steam and get the soundtrack. Oh and yes, you're allowed to upload now. SEGA had replied to a new friend of mine that we are allowed to go ahead and post. SEGA had said they are done, and just wrapping it up, proof is here: [link]


WARNING: This is a lot of boring commentary of one of my best work so far :dummy: if you wish to not read it, that's no problem! Enjoy if you did!



There is a few things I'd like to say about this picture. Sonic CD was one of my most favorite games as a child, so I could not resist the contest after hearing about it.

At first I had no clue what to do. I didn't want to draw the same old "Metal Sonic vs. Sonic" in Stardust Speedway.. So I thought, "Why not go for something a little crazy and unique?" I didn't think I'd be able to do this in 2 weeks, especially with the amount of homework I have.

There was a bunch of things I wanted to do, but I can't remember from the top of my head on what they were. Then it came to me that I try to draw every stage from Sonic CD (excluding the special stage) in a way I think would recognized by anyone who has played Sonic CD. A lot of the ideas of this picture was based on the "anime like" intro and end of Sonic CD, which I think is pretty recognizable for anyone. It all started out with this [link] some quick doodles of how I wanted to do it. There were a lot of scraps and stuff.

I did play Sonic CD from start to end for a whole day as well, just to get the feeling of Sonic CD. It kinda feels like pop art, so bright vivid colors were what I placed.

Anyways. This took me 2 weeks to do, and I'm quite proud of it :)



So enough of that boring stuff that no one will bother to read :XD: :) I'm just happy I get to show it to you guys now.
I'm still young :la: I hope to get better and catch my dreams to work with SEGA!

This is the most awesome piece of Sonic the Hedgehog fanart I've ever laid my eyes on. It must've taken weeks, months maybe to complete this, the effort shows.
