The choice of colors in this scheme are very complimentary and soothing. You haven't overwhelmed the viewer with a rainbow vomit of colors, so it is easy to keep your eyes on this piece without exhausting your vision of it. The ghastly glow within the creature, as well as the dripping shadows surround it, give an eerie but tasteful feel to the piece. You have also distributed details around the outfit of the samurai, balancing the simplicity with the complexity of the image.
And to think that the scholarship judges couldn't consider any of this. What a shame. You did a beautiful job with this creative work. To be honest, I'd really love to see more original pieces like this one from you. You truly have a lot of creative flow in that head of yours~

They do actually, but I don't know how much anymore. I actually can still apply for a scholarship based on my grades at school, so I'm okay
